This breakfast casserole is a simple sweet dish the whole family will love, it never lasts long at my house.

I have all the Christmas morning feels with this recipe. I wanted to bake up a simple yet delicious dish that would feed the whole family and this Cinnamon French Toast bubble up is just the thing. Sweet enough to feel like an indulgence but can definitely keep you on track. This dish can be whipped up in just a few minutes and popped in the oven. Serves 12 and on WW Freestyle it”s just 4 smart points per serving.

Ingredients used

  • Biscuits
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • Icing sugar *confectionary sugar

How to make Cinnamon French Toast Bubble Up (step by step): 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F, and spray a 9×13 dish with some nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Open both rolls of biscuits and cut all 20 biscuits into 6 small pieces each, giving you 120 pieces of dough.
  3. Mix the 1 tablespoon of sugar and a heaping teaspoon of cinnamon in a bag large enough for you to add the dough pieces to and shake, making sure to cover all of the pieces. The pieces will clump together so be sure to separate them while shaking the cinnamon sugar onto them.
  4. Place the dough pieces into the sprayed dish to cover the bottom evenly.
  5. In a bowl or Pyrex measuring cup, whisk the eggs and milk together, and stir in vanilla and cinnamon.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the dough pieces. Bake it in the oven for 35 minutes.
  7. Remove it from the oven. You can now mix the icing sugar, milk, and vanilla together and then pour it over the French toast bake while it is still warm.
  8. Let the icing set and then cut it into 12 equal servings. Enjoy! 

I find this recipe is best enjoyed the day it is baked. It can be stored in the fridge for 1-2 days. You can freeze this recipe, to reheat let dethaw then heat up in the oven, toaster oven, or microwave.
